The story of a photographer
Where to start! my name is Jo and I live in the beautiful Catlins, Southland NZ. Photography is something I have always loved and done just as a hobby however, at the start of 2022 I decided to buy a camera and try portrait photography. I have a partner and two young boys so initially they were bribed into being my models but this soon became a bit repetitive and my boys were well and truely over it! I managed to convince some friends and family to take the risk and get in front of the lens and this is where my love for women's empowerment photography started!
This hobby became super addictive and I found a real love for women empowerment shoots. As I got more passionate and I guess "serious" about this, I decided to get some mentoring from a women photographer Nami Creative whose work I had followed for a long time. This really sparked my passion even more and she helped me transition from hobby photographer to photographer! So here I am! something that started as a pass time and "me time" after having my boys has grown into a fun little gig that I never knew would be so well received in Southland NZ
